A new algorithm has been developed by the team of researchers which can correctly measure the heart rates of the people depicted in ordinary digital video by way of analyzing imperceptibly small head movements which can accompany the rush of blood caused by the contractions of the heart. In the test conducted by the team of researchers, it has been found that algorithm gave pulse measurements which were consistently per second of those which have been produced by the electrocardiograms.

The team of researchers with Top Engineering College in Jaipur was also able in order to provide useful estimates of the intervals between beats as well as measurement which can be used in order to identify the patterns at risk for the cardiac events. This new algorithm has been described in many news papers. It is the video based pulse measurement system which could be very useful in order to monitor new born as well as elderly whose sensitive skin can be damaged by frequent attachment as well as removal of EKG leads.

According to the researchers and List of Engineering Colleges in Rajasthan, cardiac output has been estimated by the measuring exactly the types of mechanical forces which the new algorithm registers before the advent of the echocardiogram.

 In a technique of the researchers, a heart patient can lie on the tale along with a low friction suspension system as well as every heart beat, the table would move slightly along with a displacement corresponding to cardiac output.
