Brain Cells Influence Feeding Behaviour

A study has been conducted by the team of researchers in which it has been found by them there are brain cells known as glial cells plays an important and essential role in the controlling appetite as well as feeding behavior. This study has been done on the mice by the researchers through which they have known that activating these cells helps in simulating overeating as well as when these cells have been suppressed, the appetite also suppressed.

With the help of these findings, the team of researchers would be able in developing the drugs against the obesity along with other appetite related disorders. The other reason to conduct the study is to implicate the glial cells in the essential brain functions as these cells were believed to play more of the supporting role for many kinds of functions of neurons.

According to the researchers and Jaipur Engineering Colleges, the abnormal cells activities which have been found in last few years, strongly implicated in the neurodegenerative disorders. There are many evidences in order to pint the importance of glial cells in terms of modulating neuronal function as well as in meditating brain disorders. These findings of the researchers have been published in many newspapers.

According to the team of researchers, it has been the known fact that the hypothalamus which is an almond sized structure as well as located in the deep within the brain; it controls the appetite along with energy expenditure, body temperature as well as circadian rhythms which also includes sleep cycles. The team of researchers told that at the time of performing the studies on the glial cells in the other parts of the brain, it has been noticed by them that hypothalamus have also supported in order to have the lot of activities of these cells.

According to the researchers of Top MBA College in Jaipur, they are very excited at the point of working of the glial cells which have been shown in other brain areas in order to have an influence on the regulation of neuronal functions. Two groups of neurons have been identified by the researchers within the hypothalamus which can regulate the appetite.
